We are sure you have many questions, and this site is here to answer as many as possible, however, we always recommend a visit to the nursery of your choice to see us in action!<\/p>\n
Lilliput was established in 1994, the first nursery being in Anstey. Coalville opened in 1999, and Leicester Forest East in 2007.<\/p>\n
All the nurseries follow the principles of the Montessori philosophy, which mean the learning is child-lead, we recognise the importance of helping the children develop their independence as an important part of school readiness. We favour using natural, real life and child sized materials in play, and giving children the opportunity to develop to their fullest ability.<\/p>\n
We also include Forest School experiences at all nurseries, and our staff continue to train and develop their skills in this area. We have a nursery minibus which has been used for several years by the Anstey setting to access Swithland Woods and to visit a local Residential Home.<\/p>\n
Each nursery has separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, and as each nursery is individual, we would love to show you round the nursery of your choice. We can also explain how we plan and record your child\u2019s progress and how to access the information on the Tapestry App which securely holds your child\u2019s information, and is where we can share information with you.<\/p>\n
As most parents are eligible for Government Funding we use a system called Funding Loop which enables you to complete the necessary forms to access the funding. The Manager at each site will be able to register you once your child starts at nursery.<\/p>\n
Each setting is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. The nurseries are closed on Bank Holidays, open on Christmas Eve, but closed then until the first working day after New Year.<\/p>\n
